ORDER No.1 REMEMBERANCE PARADE AND REHEARSALAll cadets and staff are required to attend the Remembrance Parade in Loughton on Sunday 9th November. This is the only 100% obligatory parade in the calendar and reflects the importance the ATC and I attach to this event.
It is important that our image and behaviour is outstanding as we will be representing the Squadron, the ATC and the Royal Air Force at this event.
ORDER No.2 REMEMBERANCE SUNDAY FOOTBALL COMPETITIONThe annual Remembrance Sunday Football Competition against 241, 282 and 27F Squadrons will be taking place following the main parade. Those selected for the team will be informed in due course. Those not playing are encouraged to attend to support. The event is due to finish at approximately 18:00
ORDER No. 3 SQUADRON CHRISTMAS QUIZ NIGHT AND RAFFLEThe Squadron will be holding a Christmas Quiz and Raffle on Saturday 6th December. The event is both a great way of raising funds for the Squadron as well as a social event.
There will also be a raffle draw with a first prize of four tickets on the Flying Fish Tours Rib Rides (
www.flyingfishtours.co.uk). ORDER No. 4 GLIDING INDUCTION COURSE 22 NOVEMBERThe Squadron has been allocated 3 places for Gliding Induction Courses at Weathersfield on Saturday 22 November. If you would like to attend, speak to Cpl Robinson.
ORDER No. 5 BAG PACKINGThe final Bag Packing event of the year will be on Saturday 13 December at Sainsbury’s. As many cadets as possible are to attend, as this will potentially be the biggest single fundraiser of the year. The last bag pack raised nearly £1,000 and we hope to raise even more at this event.
ORDER No. 6 WING CROSS COUNTRYThe Wing Cross Country Competition will be held in Chingford on 30th November. All cadets should assume they are required to attend unless advised otherwise. If the Squadron fields full teams, we are almost guaranteed a top three placing, so if you have two functioning legs you may well be in the team!
ORDER No. 7 SPORTS REPRESENTATIONCongratulations to the following cadets who have represented London Wing at sports, achieving a Wing Blue:
Wing Football (The Wing team came 1st in the Region)
Sgt Flanagan, Cdt Albiston (Named London Wing player of the Tournament) and Cdt Rogers (who captained the team and was selected for the London and South East Region team).
Wing Hockey (The London Wing Team came 2nd)
Sgt O’Keefe
Wing Netball (The London Wing Team came 3rd)
Cpl Hallford (who also managed the team)
London Wing has achieved great successes in sporting events recently and this has been, in no small part, down to the contributions of many of our cadets, as well as Miss Bollen and Mr Martyn on the staff side. Congratulations to all of you.
ORDER NO.8 CADETS CHRISTMAS PARTYThe annual cadets’ Christmas party will be held on 18th December at Laser Quest. You should expect to finish late that night. This will also be Flight Lieutenant Hollington’s final Parade as OC.
