ORDER No.1 REMEMBERANCE PARADE AND REHEARSALAll cadets and staff are required to attend the Remembrance Parade in Loughton on Sunday 9th November. This is the only 100% obligatory parade in the calendar and reflects the importance the ATC and I attach to this event.
It is important that our image and behaviour is outstanding as we will be representing the Squadron, the ATC and the Royal Air Force at this event.
ORDER No.2 INNES SWORD COMPETITON
Congratulations to the Inness Sword Team, who put in a strong performance, coming third in the competition. The team also came first in the Navigation and Stretcher Race.
ORDER No. 3 WING FIELD DAY COMPEITION
Congratulations also to the Squadron Drill team who put in a very respectable performance in the Senior Drill Competition. This was the first time for some years that we have entered a team for the senior competition.
The Banner Drill Team came second in the Wing with the new Squadron banner. This is the first time the Squadron has entered a banner party and therefore an outstanding performance by the team. I hope that the experience picked up will stand us in good stead for the Remembrance Parade on 9 November.
ORDER No. 4 FIELDCRAFT TRAINING WEEKEND, CROWBOROUGH
The Squadron will be deploying to Crowborough Training Camp over the weekend of 31 October – 2 November to carry out Fieldcraft Training. The weekend will involve living in field conditions and taking part in extended field exercises.
Please note that cadets will not be allowed to attend the course without the relevant kit. Therefore, it is recommended that cadets start getting the kit that they need, as per the posted kit list, as soon as possible.
ORDER No. 5 CADET EXAMS
Cadet exams for classifications will be held on Monday 3rd November. Cadets will need to do some self-study as well as attending lessons at the Squadron – as per the Training programme. Lessons will only be taught once and cadets will need to catch up in their spare time if they miss a night.
ORDER No. 6 PROMOTION TO THE RANK OF CORPORAL
The OC invites applications for promotion to the rank of Corporal. Applications should be in the form of a letter to the OC (no more than one side of A4) explaining the reasons you think you are suitable for promotion, giving examples of how you have demonstrated this in the past. Those who have action plans should show who they have completed the actions they were given, again giving examples. You will also be required to pass a drill assessment.
Those applying should have served at least six and preferably 12 months as an enrolled cadet, be a leading cadet and your uniform and drill should be of a high standard. You should preferably have attended a UK Camp.
