| Longmoor camp, what can i say best evre camp i have been on, by far im sure nothing will beat it!!
so here im partitioning to see who wants it to go ahead and let wing see what we want!! because if the cadets want it im sure wing will let us!!
usually 4f run the show with other squadrons help, was very successful when i went there and REALLY enjoyed myself, a well worth the money time and effort spent!! and im sure i can speak for all the cadets that also went on that camp!!
and it also offered excellent NCO training before the cadets came!!
so let me hear ya holla at this if your on it!!

| Chaps, before you get over-exited, there won't be another Longmore camp for a good while, as Wing/Region won't give clearance for it.
4F are working with us on this years' Crowborough and if you liked Longmore, then you will like this year's Crowborough.
And, much as I would like it to be true, Wing won't let you do something just becasuse you want to- thank God......

| Oh and by the way, if you want to go really hardcore, go to Frimely or on the Junior Leader's course.
Weapons, blanks, Heloicopter Insersions and Beach Landings by Royal Marine rigid raiders are the order of the day- and I'm not exagerating.

| I beleive so but there is a hell of a lot of commitment required, as well as a selection weekend. Their website is down at the moment but there are some details on the HQAC website.
In short it is (form memory) 8 weekends with a week long final ex.

| Been to frimley cadet leadership course, it was great unllike anything you'll ever get to do on squadron activities you get to shoot blanks and get some fantastic fieldcraft training on my one we also went to sandhurst assault course which was hard but great fun. One thing i would say about it though is dont go into it half heartedly it is a hard course but very rewarding when you look back on it. As for junior leaders (the one you get the maroon lanyard for) im on it now! and from everything i've heard and what ive experienced so far its probably the hardest course available in the corp. entry requirements are sgt or above, L98 trained, 17 or above and preferably have completed a clc but its not complusory. it is 8 weekends and a final week long assesment. for the selection weekend you need to do a 5 minute presentation on a topic of your choice, basic fitness test which involves a bleep test press ups sit ups, and a mile and a half run in under 12 min's for girls 11 mins for boys, theres also a number of command tasks, an assesed social which we had in the officers mess! and an interveiw. It is most definatly not an attendance course and you can get kicked off the course at any time! and if you dont pass the selection weekend you go home there and then. Put it this way its a very scary course that i hope to get what i can out of it wether i complete it or not. Also you are being constantly watched and assessed by the ds so basically you need to be perfect throughout or else your out. oh and theres also a 10km tab which ive got coming next weekend so wish me luck as i think that weekend will be my last! If anyones really interested in the frimley cadet leadership course or the junior leaders pm me and i can give you more info. | |

| It would also be good to get more london wing people on it as at the moment no one in london wing has ever completed the course and theres only myself and one other person from 241 on it this year and i'm the first female from london to ever get through selection so some girls trying out would be good aswell!
And yeah it is a serious commitment as its not just the weekends that you need to think about but its also the training that you need to do in your own time that is the real commitment.
